Our School
Nuevo Jordan School:
In 2004 Matt & Aracelli Cullipher (our founders) were informed of an area just outside Trujillo, Peru that had gone completely neglected and was in deep need of help.
They began sending money out of pocket to help bring some fruit and a hopeful word to the children of the area. Soon they were given the opportunity to have an out of work teacher go and teach a handful of children how to read and write.
The closest school was over an hour away and only a very select few could afford the $5-$10 monthly fee to attend. As we began our "classes" one young 5 year old boy was walking to his school over an hour away. As he crossed a major highway he was hit by a sugar transport vehicle and killed on the spot.
Matt & Aracelli were so torn over the situation that they decided they needed to take action. By way of Pastor Randy Czyz and Word of Life A/G in Baldwinsville, NY an offering was taken up and an elementary school was built in 2005.
In 2005 Nuevo Jordan began with just 10 students, one teacher, and a superintendent.
In 2006 Matt & Aracelli filed to form a charitable organization with the IRS.
Now, just 5 years after breaking ground, we've expanded the school 4 times. We currently include all elementary, junior, and high school grades- we also have 62 students enrolled and 18 international staff members. The children attend our school 100% FREE OF CHARGE. They receive food, clothing, medical and psychological help, and a free accredited education.
